Painted in Photoshop with 3 dfferent impasto oil brushes. This painting has a canvas texture overlay to give it more of an organic look but the brush stroke texture is all from the brush itself, no layer effects.
Using his talent, a lot of patience and the Dense Weather Photoshop oil paint brush from GrutBrushes, Filmmaker Pablo Fernandez Eyre created this animated tribute to Mad Max:Fury Road. You can Watch it here on Vimeo and you can learn more about Pablo on his website whosipablo.com Continue reading Animated Tribute to Mad Max:Fury Road (featuring a GrutBrush!)
I do so many doodles and demos demonstrating one particular brush but the real fun comes when you use multiple brushes, each with it’s own strengths and personalities. This sketch uses 3 different brushes, Gulf Stream, a broad ranged responsive ink brush, Linoleum Roll, a wide grungy textured brush and Lazy Fair, a whispy ink brush with visible bristle marks.
There’s a new way to keep up with the latest Photoshop brushes, the Photoshop brushes board on Pinterest. This is a nice way to keep up to date via your regular Pinterest feed where every new brush will appear shortly after being published in the Brush Shop (which will always be the fastest way to learn about new brushes) where the brushes appear in order of newness.
My latest Photoshop oil paintbrush ‘Mount relief‘ is probably the loosest of the oil brushes (although you could say that it’s more of an acrylic) I love painting with it as it is very expressive and has a very controllable flow from rough and scratchy to a rich fill depending on how hard you press.
As often on brush release day, today’s free Photoshop brush (today only – 09/06) Get it here: https://www.grutbrushes.com/shop/photoshop-brushes/mount-relief-photoshop-oil-brush/
After that it will be available as a single paid download and also as part of the all Photoshop brushes package.

This one was in the workshop for a long time but I am pleased to announce that “Swab Caress“, the latest and perhaps best of my watercolour brushes for Photoshop is now available in the shop. There are another dozen or so that are still in production that should be available within the next month or so.
From the catalog description:
An organic real watercolour Photoshop brush that responds to pressure sensitivity. A versatile brush for both outlining and fills it has a fairly consistent texture with just enough flaws to keep it feeling organic and natural but not enough to distract from the overall tone of the artwork. The edges of the brush stroke have a distinctive watery paintbrush appearance but are restrained enough to make for a relatively tightly controllable outline.
