Using Multiple Watercolour Brushes
Sometimes one brush will do for the whole painting but other pieces call for multiple brushes. The colour in this painting was done using the bolder Paste Up and Grape Remains for the hair and for the subtler more even tone of the background I used the Moth Wing brush. For shading I used the Ocean Liner brush with a reduced opacity so that I could go over and build up darker areas slowly and also for the clothing I used Lofty Tinge which has more texture. To get some more texture and drama into the background I added some of the more saturated orangey bits using the Paste Up brush again, this time with a much larger brush size, about double what I used on the hair.

Loosest Digital Oil Paint Brush Yet
My latest Photoshop oil paintbrush ‘Mount relief‘ is probably the loosest of the oil brushes (although you could say that it’s more of an acrylic) I love painting with it as it is very expressive and has a very controllable flow from rough and scratchy to a rich fill depending on how hard you press.

The First Pastel Brush
‘Positive Proof’ is the first pastel brush in the store. A soft digital pastel brush for digital painting and drawing it’s an opaque natural media digital drawing brush that has a round smooth thick pastel appearance.
New Digital Artists’ Inking Brush

New Ink and Watercolour Brushes
There are two new brushes in the shop this week, Gently Swayed A soft, responsive watercolor brush with a fine woolly textured edge. It’s soft fibrous pigment grain gives it a distinct organic personality.
The second is a rough scratchy ink brush “Pelican Teeth” A ragged ink brush pen with an intermittent line and the occasional periphery spray from those stray bent bristles. You can get these two latest as part of the ‘All Brushes” package of 25 brushes all for only $10. And if you bought that package in the last 30 days you can download these for free!
